Tuner's & Cold Weather

I'm looking for some information. I'm considering getting a tuner for my new 07 and have read that you can't use it, or install it or ???? if it's below freezing out.

So what's the story here? Plus if you use one of the tuners is it plug and play (read leave it installed/connected in the truck) or do you install and put the thing away?

I'm old school with respect to performance upgrades so all this is new for me.

Thanks in advance

I live in New England, and have only had the screen "act up" once or twice.... and it was on extreme cold mornings. Its been hovering around 0 here for a while, and it works like a champ. I wouldn't worry about it.

It all depends on which tuner you go with. I personally have an Edge tuner. You can use the dash mount and leave it connected all the time. You can also just load the "tune", then remove the product and use it that way as well. I happen to love the heads up display (I can't tell you the last time I used my stock speedo to see how fast I am going down the road).

What's your truck again? I know I've read what it is in some thread, but drawing a blank. I've heard all sorts of horror stories about tuners and the cold. Glad to hear things aren't always as bad as some folks post.

Why can't we go back to the nice warm start of winter the north east was enjoying back in December. I'm tired of the cold and wind that we've had lately. I've only seen 1 day over 15 in the past 3 weeks.

Thanks for the feedback Rich.

I have an 06 F150 FX4 Supercrew. I can't wait for the warm weather to return! I was out in LA on business last week.. so to land in the cold weather and snow was a slap to the face

My Edge kept giving me trouble with the screen and finally after the second or third week of well below zero weather my battery gave me problems. Replaced my battery and I have not had any problems since. So it is probably time for a new battery.
