Well, it has been decided that FTE is going to be giving the chapters some webspace to put up Chapter websites. It will go along with this forum but will also be a place to put other Ontario Chapter specific news and info.

So, I guess we need to pick an address for "OUR" site. Please see the poll.

I am also going to setup a Photobucket site as well to host pictures of members' rides, Get-Together pictures and other images that we will use. The address will go along with the FTE Address.

Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

Ontario.ford-trucks.net might attract more folks using search engines to locate Ford truck sites.
Also, without the "Chapter" in the title, it may not appear to be a club (good old boys syndrome) that is as welcoming as FTE's Ontario Chapter is now.

doesn't really matter to me. But it is beginning to have the sounds of the same setup as one of those other "magazine" run sites. My only worry in all that is that with the magazine run sites once you post a pic up it is basically giving it to them to do with as they please which includes the sponsors being able to use any pic in the albums as advertising without the original owner of the pics permission. Are we gonna be safe from that? Just asking cause I saw a huge war develop and many members quit a site because of that happening

No, it won't be like that. I will address that issue with the Administrators though. I am seeing it as basically just a website (that is hosted on FTE's servers) that will be about THIS Ontario Chapter. The website idea is being promoted by the owner of FTE.

Why not just break off from FTE and have an all CANADIAN forum?

 

I just don't see the point in having a "site". We have our own forum so to speak on this site and it seems to work pretty well. I do like the idea of a Chapter photo gallery though.

It is not going to be a site so to speak. There will still be the Ontario Chapter here where you are now.

I guess I can kind of compare it to a Myspace site for the Ontario Chapter. There will be pictures of members trucks, a link to the Ontario Chapter forum that you are in now, a Calendar of upcoming events and whatever else you guys think we should have.

What would the point of that be? FTE has built a great site here and we can use it to meet other people in this province. Ontario is big enough, yet all of Canada?

Almosted voted for the Focus_Rocks banner, well out of sheer sympathy. But I just couldn't lower myself to do it!

I think it's a great idea Matt. It will be easier to find stuff, and match faces and trucks to names Better than looking in galleries or searching posts.

Is this supposed to be all the Ontario user profiles put in one spot?

Other than that, isn't it just duplication of everything we already have and use in the Ontario chapter?

 

How about any member that has their own web site link posted in their signature?
We do have some members that run a business, and have included their link in their signature here on FTE. I'm working on a site myself as a business opportunity. Would this be allowed on the new site as just another way of "keeping it in the family"?
