57-60 at Bonneville?
Has anyone ever heard of a 57-60 running at Bonneville? I am interested in building a pickup that can run at 140+ speeds and was looking for other examples to determine approximate HP required to reach these speeds. If anyone had a Coefficient of Drag (Cd) for this body style, that would be just as helpful.

Not yet, but that doesn't mean that it's not been tried.
Don't have a CoD handy, but might be able to get my hands on one.
Just curious, your Avitar shows a '59 Hood.
Is it a '60 w/ a '59 Hood & Grille or is it a '59 sold '60 in a state that required that it be listed as the Year it was sold in?

In regards to the year I was told by the PO that is the former. The VIN identifies it as a 1960 as well.

I don't know of any 57-60 Ford Pickups running at Bonneville; but these guys ran a 49 in the XF/PP class.

The XF is a flathead Ford V8 and the PP is Production Pickup. If you ran your 57-60 in PP class, you'd have to run in the D engine class (261-305 ci) where the record is 157.662 mph. I don't know if anyone has ever calculated a Cd for your truck. I'd Google it and see what you could find. Someone out there on the web has a way for you to figure it out or at least to get a close approximation. The C engine class is for 306-372 ci engines. I don't remember what displacement engines Ford put in the 57-60 trucks. If your truck has an engine that is other than stock you will be in the Modified Pickup class where D class record is 160.022 mph and the C class record is at 224.082 mph.

Good luck.

that would be cool seeing one of these thing at 150+. on that old chevy with the crap paintjob ive always want to do something like that. take a old ford and build it up to the limit then striaghten the body out perfect and take and paint it and airbrush some rust aroun the fenders, some bullet holes in the hood, maybe some dents here and there but have it all in the paint just to make people wonder.
