I just read tonight. None of the big three are manufactured in the States. Two in Canada and one in Mexico. The Camary is manufactured in the States. Kind of interesting.
With the COT they all look the same.

i hate what nascar is becoming, a damn soap opra. and what the hell does kelly clarkson have to do with racing. i wanna watch the race, i didnt turn it on to hear her sing.

i agree with westladogs article, nascar was a race for grease monkey good ol boys, the guys that use to run moonshine, how many of them drove a fricken toyota. their pushing and pushing trying to become "pc".

"we have to include everyone", hell let all the econo crap boxes in. in our mainstream america, with all the teenage girls and soccer moms that watch nascar now, we have to let everyone in. i noticed during every comercial break there was a "thanks for having us" yota comercial. even though everyone i know signed a potition not to let them in.

i'm sure dale is turning in his grave on this "fine day". i'm so happy none of them won daytona. but yes we'll wait and see, all mighty toyota is sure to win the cup this year, why? becouse they're toyota and they're the best. by the way did you know that jesus drove a toyota? yeah, just becouse they rule, barf.

toyota sucks, end of rant.
Rants like this make me laugh. I'm sure Dale would be turning over in his grave seeing Toyota coming into NASCAR. Even the great one wouldn't have been able to stop that "furign" car company from envading.

People whining and complaining on how NASCAR has become all about the money. Have you just woke up? Look at any other sport in North America and the bloated contracts of players in any sport.

And better yet, Toyota in NASCAR now! Um who cares, if anything it's all the better seeing the competition level will go up.

It's the year 2007, NASCAR was about the moonshiners ages ago, if you want some grassroots racing, go to a local short track.

Simply put, if you don't like it, don't watch it. For every disgrunteled fan that refuses to watch or support NASCAR, there are probably 2 to 3 new fans. I think everyone has a right to an opinion.......

In the 1950's NASCAR races, one would see: Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Buick, Chevrolet, Ford, Mercury, Edsel, Chrysler, Dodge, DeSoto, Plymouth, Nash, Hudson, Packard, Studebaker.

In the 1960's-90's NASCAR races one would see: Oldsmobile, Buick, Pontiac, Chevrolet, Ford, Mercury, Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth.

In recent years, up until Camry showed up, it's been: Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford.

More competition is good.

Yes, more competition would be better but the financial state the domestic's are in right now I can't see any Merc's or Pontiacs back in NASCAR anytime soon.

I think a little xeno-phobia is at play here, though those doing it loathe to admit it.

I agree, Camry's kinda alone since it's the only car name raced in NASCAR that's made in the United States. Maybe the Nissan Maxima and Honda Accord will join NASCAR also, since they are made here too.

What would be the point? Merc and Pontiac are basicly Ford and GM. Back in the day they might have been separate, or at least make separate models. Now they are just different versions of the same car jazzed up.

Exactly

Xenophobia denotes a phobic attitude towards strangers or of the unknown. The term is typically used to describe fear or dislike of foreigners or in general of people different from one's self.

BTW Everyone in that sport cheats

I think more competition is good but Id rather c a mercury or pontiac instead of a camry, one of the main reasons I thought that adding toyota to nascar was stupid was the fact that they have no sports car or anything that even associates with racing, today the only thing that is related to the street car and nascar version is the name, but I still think that its akward to have a race car that doesent have anything to do with what the company actually makes, whats there pace car gonna be anyways a corrola? Lol, the main reason I made this thread was to point out how toyota started there mark in nascar by using illegal fuel and illegal things for aerodynamics, I just thought it was a little shadey on there part.
