Question Does anyone have a accelerator assembly?

I know I took off the accelerator assembly, but dont know where it is. I need from the fuel pedal to the long rod that comes back to the cab fire wall. I have that it is part number 9747 on Bobby's diagram. Thanks by the way Bobby for the diagram

The gas pedal is: TAAA-9735-A This fits about all trucks 1948/56.

There are two different acc rods listed, one for the 6 another for a V8.

The accelerator rod shows to be the same for a V8 1948/52 TH as it does for a C (and D, Y, T, etc). Problem is, only the 239 flatty is listed...omission from Ford? Maybe.

It also lists one for the 6 cylinder TH which also fits a C (and D, Y, etc).

Here's the two:

91W-9747-B Acc Rod .. 6 Cylinder (10.08" from center of holes)

2Q-9747-A Acc Rod .. 8 Cylinder (11.69")

TH = F6 / C = F1
.............................
Kevin, I'd look for a set of the 48/56 truck books (1 text, 1 illustrations). There are 100's of diagrams that can be very helpful, plus the part numbers themselves. Someone had them on CD on fleabay, the actual books are tougher to find, but are faster to use.

What I am looking for is the part that mounts on the firewall of the cab, and the parts into the gas pedal.

thanks Kevin

The rod goes from the rubber gas pedal to the carb..what else is missing? There's a accelerator return spring 7HC-9760-B (fits em all..C to TH). There's also a carb return spring, but those can be improvised from another spring. If someone sent you a diagram, look and let me know what's left. I don't see anything else.

Kevin, do you mean the Z shaped rod with the two pivots that bolt to the firewall? If so, I'm not going to use mine.

Kevin...I have one too (the z shaped thingy) for a 6cyl off my 51 f3. They are different than the v8 which is wider I think. If rhopper has what you need that is cool, if not let me know. Make sure you get the whole thing with the bolts and washers.

All, I have a real rube goldberg arrangement on my truck. The PO jerry rigged some kind of pedal shaft that just has a button for the pedal, is all on the inside of the cab with a coat hanger wire going thru the dash to the carb lever. I also would like to find a V8 style pedal shaft that's right for the truck, and some kind of regular accel cable to go to the carb with the proper spring return.
Anybody got anything they want to sell. I can buy all the parts from catalogs but we're talking about a 100 bucks for the kit & kaboodle.

Jim if yours is a v8 Joe Gaddy has one in the above post. Pm him and see what he wants for it. I got lucky with only postage, but I usually give away my extra parts as well or trade them.
