There is no way anyone is going to know what the earth has done over the past million years. Sure they can look at tree growth rings and the like for a good idea of what has gone down over the last few hundred maybe, but I don't see how that tells them anything, much as a spit in the ocean would for elevation changes LOL...

Great point there.. Maybe someday people will wake up and see that this Global warming deal is nothing more the a foolish fad.

As a home mechanic for years and years, I actually love the idea of a removable cab, especially if it is MADE to be removed. It is forward thinking, wrong or right. It is a new approach to a modern more crap under the hood issue. Guarantee the aftermarket will shortly follow suit with a "Super Duty Cab Jack" of sorts. However, you should NOT have to remove the cab for basic servicing, such as oil and filter changes, Fan Belts, refilling fluids, etc. Accessory components like Power steering pumps and alternators are far more reliable than in the past and do not require changing very often. As these truck become ever bigger and more complex, I deffinately can see the day that they have a Tilt Cab or Nose similar to Big Rigs. Sure removing the cab is likely to require special tools, but what doesn't anymore? once you have the right tools, it is easy. So I have to ask, with all the correct tools on hand, and starting with the hood closed, would it be quicker to replace a head on a DuraMax, or Removable cab Super Duty? Or maybe the better question, which would be EASIER?
Splitting wood with an Ax is quicker than a hydraulic wood splitter, but is it easier?

As an operator of a fleet of school buses with forward tilting hoods and inner fenders I can tell you that many jobs especiallly at the front and rear of the engine can still be quite difficult. Any operation requiring the radiator to be removed likely calls for the hood and bumper to also be removed. We will never be able to remove the "cab" on a school bus, we just wish we could.
