BFG Rugged Trail vs. All Terrain T/A KO's in MPG's

Does anyone know if the two tires, Rugged Trails and the All Terrrain T/A's from BF Goodrich have any difference in fuel economy? I looked the the BFG website to compare but there is no reference to fuel economy. I am wondering if the Rugged Trails which are a more conservative, passenger type tire gets better fuel economy than the more aggressive All Terrain's.

I tried both on my 99 F250, Liked the BFG ATs much better. Did not notice hardly any change in mileage between the two. The Rugged Trail sucked in the wet. Hydroplaned and would slip with just a little power applied. The ATs always did will in the wet, and if you leave the pavement they are a bit above most ATs also. Before I sold the truck I had the 4th set of ATs on and if I kept it I would have gotten a 5th when the time came. Now just waiting for the factory tires to wear out on my new 06 so I can go get a new set for it.

The big difference is going to be between the mud terrains and the A/T KO's.... there you will see a 1-2 at minimum MPG loss... my buddy slapped MT's on his Lanche and it dropped the MPG by 4.

I'm not impressed with the snow traction of the BFG Rugged Trail A/Ts that came stock on my truck.

Go for that AT's. You'll love them. They will be my next set on my current truck. I have had them in the past and no matter what anybody says, they are a great tire.

Go for the BFG AT! There wont be any difference in MPG between the RT & AT unless you upsize, then you will tell a slight decrease in MPG.

Thanks for all of the input. I did get the AT's and am trying to figure out if the MPG's changed any from the Rugged Trails. No change in tire size, so it should be all good. Can't wait to see how they perform in the snow. We've had rain and they are great under those conditions.

Buy the AT's. Best tire I have ever owned. Look great, ride good, great traction, and they last forever. Can't go wrong with these things!

Rugged Trail to AT KOs

I converted over to the KOs from the Rugged Trail (along with upgrading to Bilsteins at the same time). Mileage went down 2mpg. Aggressive looking, should see today with the snow (calling for 14") how they do in it (they are better in wet then the RT). 04 350 w/5.4 and 373s
