dash brake light on

1999 Ranger 4X4 3.0
I was just driving and all of a sudden my brake light warning came on, a feww weeks ago the ABS came on, but after leaving the truck sit all night and starting the next morning the ABS light went out. But my dash brake light, I'm also having trouble with the auto locking hubs, so would this cause maybe the brake light to come on? the fluid probally use a little bit, but not much, so is there anything else that might vause this?

Typically the RED brake light will come on if the fluid level is low, or if the parking brake is engaged. Sometimes the switch at the parking brake pedal can go bad, but that typically occurs in a way that the light does NOT come on when applied. I have yet to see one cause the light to stay on on the Rangers.

If your brake fluid level is low it means you either have a leak, or the front pads are worn real low.

Good luck.
