New Silverado on Trucks...

I just saw the beginning of the show and its hilarious how most of the "new" stuff they're making a big deal about has been on our trucks since 04 like cupholders in the door, roll down ext. cab windows, rack & pinion steer, coilver front susp, boxed frame, etc.....

However, the 4cyl mode is pretty cool for fuel economy and 367hp sounds pretty nice. I still wouldn't trade my FX4 in on it though!!

Have you ever noticed how the programming on Trucks looks overtly scripted by sponsors? Watched that show last week and it almost looked like a believable review until they got to the part where they started pushing the GM performance add-ons.

Kinda makes you want to poke Ford and ask where the ponies are...

The Fords look nice on the inside (though they all look decently well lately IMHO), the exteriors all look ridiculous to me, but to the best of my knowledge any other full-size truck out there will flat out spank the F-150...it's just lacking on horsepower.

Not sure what it is but GM seems to be doing something right recently, at least to me. Some of there newer products(mostly car line) I'm very impressed by, and this is coming from someone who never gave GM a second glance.

My roomate just picked up a Caddy CTS V that has got to be on of the nicest handling 4 sedans out there from an American maker right now. Friend has a 06 GTO, if I was in the market for a car like this I would definatly pick up a leftover of these before the Mustang, just seems a little better put together. New Suburbans are really nice also.

Haven't had the chance to try out the Silverado yet but it looks to be a decent vehicle. Be interesting to see how it holds up in the real world

Well yeah. If GM wanted to throw you a nice little sum of cash to sponsor your company or business, wouldn't you feel an obligation to promote their product if given the opportunity?

They did something right with their new Silverado...they copied the competition, and did a poor job of it, too.

The front fender and rear quarter panel flares, the sloping windshield, the wide open rear doors on the the xtra cab, the bed management system...all copied from the 2004 Titan. When I first saw it, I thought it was a restyled Titan.

The easy up/down tailgate, cup holders in the doors etc...2004 F150. The only thing original is the ugly scalloped tailgate and the even uglier front end.

Harley Earl must be spinning in his grave!

Looks like the Silverado and the Tundra are both competiting for the Most Ugly Truck of the Year award.

They might if it was for the Most Ugly Newly Designed truck but they will not win the Ugliest truck award as long as the Titan is around.

I rather like the styling of the new Silverado. But to each his own.

When you think of it, it will do them good for stealing the good features of the truck. They took the most preferred things, and combined them into one truck.

Just like buying anything else, you look for the best features in one unit. They've got that right, whether you choose to admit it or not. Is it outselling the F-150? Hardly. Sales go up though of pretty much every truck out there.

You couldn't be more wrong, first off GM been working on this Silverado before the Titan came out. This new Silverado has style from previous Chevy trucks, look and the body line that starts from the head lights that's off the 73-87. The Front is all Chevy but the stacked lights are from the mid 80's and the dash is a update from the last model. The only thing new is the fender flairs but the truck as a whole I like it. I think it looks big and tough I got a chance to see them in person and they look a lot better than in photos.

You park one of those Silverados next to a Titan. They could be cousins, past the front end (even uglier than the Titan). The swept back windshield, the wide fender flares, the "wide open" rear doors that open exactly 2 degrees wider than on a Titan. The copied bed track system, made cheaper (a GM trait). Titans were introduced in December 2003, that gave Chevy over two years to copy...copy...copy. And copy they did!

Yes, Chevy has been working on the new Silverado for a while, and I know it takes years to develop a new style. But, sorry, there's too many coincidental items from one to another, to get me to believe GM thought them up on their own. Copying the competition is the norm today. In that Speed Channel road test featuring Howie "the truck expert" Long, Chevy claimed the wide open doors and bed management system as their exclusive design...a first in the Industry. Yeah, right.

The fugly Silverado reminds me of the old joke about a camel. It's a horse...styled by committee.
