SuperDuty F250 AS1 mark??
Hi I am new to this group, have a 2000 F250 4X4 super duty 4 door long bed Power Stroke.
My truck failed the (N.C.) inspection yesterday because of the tint strip at the top of the windshield. Has passed past 4 years at the same inspection station. NC code states 5" or the AS1 mark/line.
The AS1 mark is missing on my Carlite windshield, apparently this mark is silk screened onto the glass and whoever installed the tint film scraped it off.
Ford says all their windshield have the mark but did not know the actual measurement. The local supervisor of the inspection stations will approve the tint if I can get the info as the the actual measurement from the top of the windshield to the AS1 mark. So would appreciate if some one would measure
their windshield and pass the info, better yet a link to a site that might have the spec for the windshield. The bottom of the tint strip on my windshield is at 8.25 inches from the rubber at the top.
Thanks Gary G

Unfortunately I think they are correct and your is too far down. I would love to have that much tint but ran into the same problem so i didnt get my done. Contact safelite or one of the windshield manufacturers and see if they will give you the spec on it. I just measured mine and it is a replacment windshield. From the black rubber on the outside down to the AS1 is 4.75" and from the black outline on the glass it is 3".
Hope this helps. NC used to be very relaxed about tint laws and VA (my area) was real strict and I know that NC has really changed there requirements.
