PUPPIES born today!
Their Mommy is a whip thin FAST labrador (sounds kind of crass, but Electra is forty pounds, EMPTY), but I was told that the stud that got to her was the biggest PIT BULL in the neighborhood by someone who took her home before me and saw it.
MOST of the pups are coal black, from end to end. There is exactly one with a black body and white markings on it's head - a female.
What these dogs will be like I can't even guess...
There will be pictures starting tomorrow.
Electra had all of her shots not long ago, so there is residual resistance to diseases in the pups.
And there is a bonus: If you live in Shelby county you can truthfully claim the mother dog is a Labrador - so you should not have to register it with the city.
PS: Yes! There's ten of them, alive, well, and kicking...

They made it through the night - all ten. I think I can stop worrying about the littlest now...
There were originally an even dozen, but when I got home and found them all in the dog house, two were lost under the blankets and had died. One was barely moving, and I hand fed it milk from the tip of a finger and then with a straw. I finally placed it right on a teat on Electra and held it there to feed once it began getting some energy back (it was barely moving. Someone else would have given up). It's fine now, and only a little smaller than the rest.

Dang - the biggest one is the black and white fem so far.
Looks like a killer whale in the middle of a pod of seals.....
I hope whoever gets it doesn't name it "SHAMU" because I don't want a Jap name hanging over a dog of mine.
But then - the Japs stole almost all the tech they have from us, and so therefore every damn thing they make IS a mongrel by definition.

Puppy Pictures
I'll probably put a few pic's up over the coming weeks as they get bigger and form up.
They are one week old in this picture here.
The big black/white female is the standout in this picture.
In the righthand pic - they are next to "Mommy". Electra weighs forty pounds.

Well wolfie you ain't the only one with a new dog. My wife found a new puppy for our house. His name is Paulie. He is a white & brown 9 month old Shih Tzu. Yep he is a lap dog. He is one cool little buddy. I'll get a pic of him as soon as I can.
