what makes you think the oil pan gasket is bad there are many other causes oil leaks on a PSD that are far simpler to fix.

well actually my pops was over and he owns a 01 psd and he was telling me that it may be the pressure gasket at the turbo? does this sound familar? he couldnt remember the actual name of it but we got to looking at it closer and it is deffinatley comming from up top. i have residue all over my turbo plumbing onthe passenger side and it is going down the block. i thought head or valve cover but then we notice all the residue. so know im not sure.

our engines have a closed crank case vent that vents into the intercooler tubes, alot of your residue may be comeing from the oil vapors escapeing from the blue boots. also yes, the turbo pedistal "o" rings due have a tendicy to get fatigued and leak.you should check the 94.5 to 03 7.3 diesel forums there's a bunch of knowledgable people over there they have helped me beyond any compensation. oh yeah welcome to the NC chapter don't forget about us when you try the diesel forum
