CEL P0171 and P0174 AGAIN! Please help!
For the last month, I have been getting the P0171 and P0174 codes. I replaced the PCV, replaced the fuel filter, checked vacuum hoses for cracks (although I only found two hoses -- PCV hose and one other). I also removed and cleaned the MAF two times. I inspected the air fliter to throttle body hose for cracks and found none.
Any other ideas? Could it be the oxygen sensors? Leaky gaskets? Any ideas would be appreciated before I hand it over to the Ford dealer.

It WILL run with the MAF unplugged, but it will set more codes for lack of MAF signal. Now if you leave the MAF plugged in, but disconnect the air tube.. then it won't run.
Your P0171/P0174 codes are being caused by leaking intake manifold gaskets. When the vehicle is cold, start it up and once RPM stabilizes immediately start spraying carb cleaner or intake cleaner around the mating surface of the intake and the engine. If you notice a change in idle while spraying, they are leaking for sure. Sometimes they can still leak but still pass this test as well.
I've done several of these for that specific problem. Can also cause cold start issues. Good luck!

Well I thought i had the problem fixed the mil came back on with the same codes 5 miles later. Reset the computer and came back on within 5 miles. Did this several times the took it back to the shop. They hooked up a smoke machine and smoke was billowing out from the back of the intake. Now what is back there that smoke would come out of.
