just watch out..... 1956 is a 12 volt system, 1953-1955 used the 6 volt.

Try Sacramento Vintage Ford Parts, or Hemmings Motor News. You can run want ads, but it's tough to find the "brain box" without the head/dial and speaker.

Most want to sell the entire unit.

There's a radio maven in Fresno that sells at swap meets, and runs ads in Hemmings...I forget his name.

Thanks NumberDummy. I`d be happy to buy "brain box" and tuner as one unit. Haven`t got a Hemmings, but I`ll surely get one. Also I live in Sacramento so I`ll check with Vintage Ford. Thanks for the info. Gusso

Gusso,
I have the same exact situation with my 56. I've looked everywhere, and constantly search ebay. I met a guy on this forum that had one last fall from a parts truck he bought, but when he noticed my enthusiasm after he offered to sell it to me, I guess he decided he would make a better profit on ebay. I'm still looking though, let me know if you come up with anything, good luck!,

Mike

I have the radio "brain box" out of my '56 big window. $100 shipped anywhere in the lower 48.

You are going to be the proudest `56 big window owner on the planet when your finished. Trouble is don`t know of anyone truly finished. Hope all your F-100 dreams come true. GUSSO
