So I have been snowplowin a lot lately it seems and i have been curious of the temp of my tranny, so thinkin about buying a transtemp gauge from autometer gauges and maybe possibly installing it where the coin holder is on my stx or where the 4x4 switch would be on a higher trim model. Anybody done this, also how and what do i hook this transtemp gauge up to?

 

why go through all that hassle when you can just get the Edge and it can provide that reading for you. You can get performance AND trannytemp readings...Autometer gauges are really pricy and last time I checked, their Phantom White series gauges were in the hundred dollar range...Edge costs like $330

 

edge edge edge, everyone suggest a edge, i cant afford the edge right now, i do have things to pay for. BUT i still would like to know the temp of my transmission.

 

I would be curious to know also. I know most trans temp gauges come with a sending unit that you tap into your pan with. It would be nice to know if you can tap into the current wiring. Have you contacted a local dealer? I wonder is any techs would help.

 

I costed out the parts to install a trans temp gauge and it would have cost me nearly $200. I bought an Edge Evo for $300 on ebay.
