My introduction

I posted this in the truck section a couple weeks back and just noticed this local forum so thought a repeat was in order.

Well I just bought my first Ford. It is a 1975 2wd F250 Camper special 8100 lb GVWR, 390 with a C6 trans. Dana 60 with 3.73 gears in the rear. Basically all stock.
Paid $500 dollars for it and put another $500 worth of tires on it. I am loving it.
Needs some minor stuff, rag joint(done), column shifter wont go to 1st, Exhaust donut gasket, door and window gaskets, oxidation rubbed out of paint(started) man there is a lot of surface area on these trucks. Overall the truck is in great shape with some surface rust but no rot(Update:Passenger floorboard is vented well).
Just wanted to say hi and thanks for the info I have absorbed so far. I have been lurking since January second.
Here is a link to pictures. The truck pics are at the bottom.

PS:I am getting ready to have the engine rebuilt and am soliciting shop reccomendations or avoidances in the Santa Rosa area.

Nice looking truck! Excellent cost too. Finally someone here who has paid less than I did for a truck Enjoy the site, and the Nor-Cal chapter, I know I do.

Hi and welcome! I'm just up the hill from you at Clear lake. Nice looking truck you got there...I like that shade of blue!

I can't say as I've had any personal experience with engine builders around Santa Rosa, but I seem to recall a machine shop out on the west side of town that had a pretty good reputation, might have been on Dutton...

(Hey Jim, just so you know...I only paid 300 bucks for my '68 F250 CS!)

Don't know of any good rebuild shops at all. Only built one engine in my time, and that was 30 years ago in a college engine class.

Dan 300 eh? Cool, that means my truck is twice as good as yours since I paid $650 for it
