another help me question

Hi there, I am wondering if any of you that my be down to the bare frame of their 53 to 56 f100 if you could tell how much lower or higher the radiator u-shaped rad support is in conjuction to the cab front mounts . I'm asking because I don't have access to an original frame and have been building my panel on a chev frame and need to build a cross member to support thr front sheet metal.

Measuring the frame of my 53 parts truck, looks like the mounting pad for the radiator support is 4.5" below the cab mounts. Hope this helps.

Just a hint: The rad support is bolted to the air dams behind the headlights. And they sit over the frame. So, by mocking up the air dams to the rad support, you can confirm the height. I'll be somebody can even tell you the proper distance between the top of the frame and the bottom of the air dams. Jag

Don't forget to use/add in the thickness of the rubber vibration insulators.

good point Ax. That could be an extra 3/8-1/2" under the rad support depending on who you talk to. Jag
