towing specs
#17
This is home now so we had to get it right the first time
I'm a full time RVer. 2006 SCREW with 6er bed and tow package, 5.4 Liter V8. 2 wheel drive with 3.73 gearing and 17" tires. I am pulling a 21' Bigfoot trailer which is rated as a 4 season camper so I am loaded out pretty good. On the highway I get what the 4by4freak gets, 2400 rpms at 63 give or take. We came down the coast in Oregon then California. Maybe turned the OD off twice in some crazy highways up in the higher hills coming down the coast of California but thats it. Haven't touched it since. Also like he says we usually see the rpms come up to 3500 to 3800 while we are heading up but she does just fine. I am more than impressed with Ford with time around. Handles well and wants it gets out on the hwy it seems to find its eliment. It wants to get up in the 60 or 70s It just scruises along like the trailer isn't even there....I am most comfortable down around 55 60.
