Any ideas what might cause above problem? When i turn the dial from 2wd to 4H, the dash light will flip back and forth from 4h to AWD, constantly. I am not sure, but it seems to hold in 4H if I turn the dial slightly beyond the 4H position (toward the 4L). Basically, in-between 4H and 4L. However, this spot is not good as the dial won't always hold in the middle. Sometimes it kicks into 4L and sometimes back to 4H, etc.

Is this an easy fix? Can i do it myself or do i need to see a dealer?

 

Probably a bad switch, but if the control mechanism on the xfer case is the problem a dealer would be the best bet. If you have wiring and interior automotive experience you could probably replace the switch. Just be carefull not to mess up interior panels because you don't know how they come apart.
