Was quoted an 08 price today..........

at invoice plus $1000. It says Price level 815. Anyone know if this is true costs? Knowing how dealers are there is probably a few levels of invoice pricing. Truck came in at $53k with a fully loaded King Ranch Diesel 4x....the whole gig. Appreciate any info on the 815 level.........

Not sure about the 815 price level. However, usually a good deal is 2-5% over invoice. With the '08 as a totally new model...seems like a good deal.

Enjoy your NEW '08!!!

Don't know about the 815 but I paid (will be) paying dealer invoice for my 08 SD CC 6.4l that will sticker for over 53k. I ordered it right after Thanksgiving and at the beginning of January was given a build date of 2/12 and a price around 47k. THis is not a King Ranch it is a Lariat loaded with everything except moonroof, Nav System, and rear entertainment dvd. I didn't care for the moonroof and I will be upgrading the audio system myself as to me factory systems are blah!

I am opting for the moonroof, nav and the stereo..... I am tired of working on trucks after buying them. Besides I understand the new stereo is pretty kick *** with a seperate sub and all....... Enjoy your new Ford...Im still tossed between Ford and the 07 Denali SUV.

I went with the Audiophile which gives me the 8 speakers and the 6 or 7" sub which is probably underpowered. Depending on how the sub sounds I may live with it or I may upgrade it. Will just have to see where it is located and exactly what size it is.

I just did not get the Nav as I would prefer something like the Pioneer AVIC Z1 that has touchscreen nav, plays DVD's, bluetooth built in, rear camera, built in HD for ripping CD's, and on screen I-pod controls which I can get installed locally for very close to the same price ($1800.00) of the Factory Nav System.

The Denali's are very nice (my wife has one) but the interior (to me) is very small and cramped. I like my elbow room. Good luck wich whichever you choose.

I always go to carsdirect.com because they show actual invoice and any rebates. The 08 probably isn't on there but the site will defenitely keep you from getting screwed.

I respectfully disagree. A good deal is paying invoice or below minus any rebates that are floating around. A great deal is invoice minus partial holdback minus any rebates. A fair deal is paying 2-5% above invoice. Since 2000, I have never paid over invoice for a truck or SUV. But 815 sounds like a pre-demand upcharge due to the 08's newness in market. If you want that truck now, you may have to bite that bullet because these new trucks will be in high demand out of the gate. Thank you.

I was wondering about the 815 thing as well. I was quoted invioce plus $200 at several dealers around here, plus you keep the rebated - none right now, but they said I'd still get the rebates if they came in before I picked up the truck. I decided to go used. I was looking at a lariat V10 for $37k. The one thing that bothered me was a charge of $615 that was an advertising fee for the dealers association. I know it wasn't the dealer messing with me, because I checked 3 dealers and they all came in with the 815 price level and the $615 charge in there. Seems silly for the customer to have to pay for advertising for a truck that will never be advertised.

I'm sure you could buy for:

Invoice
- Direct-to-dealer incentives
- Customer rebates/incentives
- Holdback
+ $500.

Don't waste any time with a salesperson. Find the truck you want, and only deal with a fleet manager or internet manager. In my experience, these guys never jerk you around, have the authority to set pricing, and will usually give you the absolute best deal without a big hassle.
