Serpentine pulley from stock Ford parts for a 351C/ 351M/400??
Has anyone tried to use stock Ford or other brand pulleys and convert a 351C/ 351M/ 400 to a serpentine belt system??? With all the newer vehicles and MILLIONS of pulleys out there I can't believe we all have to buy systems that cost $1K-2K just for having a single belt. That's almost the cost of a cheap engine!! Anyone want to experiment and come up with a system that we can all benefit from??

I have a Serpentine Pulley setup on my 434. It is a March pulley setup for 351W motor. The pulleys fit, but the alternator bracket is custom, and the alternator has to be relocated to a lower location, with the large bolt into the block instead of the head.
This is a dual belt setup, one for the alternator and water pump, the other for the PS pump. I didn't install an air conditioning compressor, but it could be done with an idler pulley.
The Windors motors with Serpentine setups all have a single belt system, and a reverse rotation water pump. There is no reverse rotation WP for a 335 series motor. That would be a good item for someone to make.

RR Water pump
SVO catalogs used to have parts for anti cavitation WP's, seals, impellers, bushings, even housings as I recall. They were for std rotation though. BUT--that kinda tells me that WP's can be disassembled and reassembled etc. I wonder if some enterprising, curious, brave individual, with a shop press has looked at pressing out a RR assembly from a W motor and looking at what it would take to press/modify it to a cleveland style? I guess the passages in the C pump might not work RR, but I have not seen where anyone has looked. First thing next Monday I'll look at it----yea right

Yep, I'm curious about that--. Been watching your 434 engine stuff. If I ever make it up that way, you better "chain er down" . Checked my 400 block on the stand---almost forgot about it, under that plastic bag. Its a D1** but dont think it was a T, poor lighting. Anyway, happiness is a 434---amoungst all the other stuff I want!

Check out the Bubba's M-Block website for the casting numbers.
What is your location?

RR pump
Somewhere, out back in the tall grass, I may have an old W RR pump. Also have a neighbor with a small shop press. Maybe if I brag on his 69 460 (.030 over) camero He will let me use his press. Also may have an old C pump down under the pine straw as well----guess I better get busy--cold weather, snakes wont be too active!!!!

BTW, I was going through some old OHO suppliments and they had an article about swapping a 351C impeller into a Boss 302 WP. The C impeller needed the diameter cutdown to fit in the case. So, if the shaft and bearings have not changed over the years, the 5.0 reverse rotation pump may be a donor for an impeller. BUT, then you would need to fill and shape the C case.
