300,000 miles?

I was in Vegas this last week and spotted two 08 6.4s getting fuel. They were unbadged and had a wierd vinyl wrap on them. By the time i got around the block they were leaving the pumps. so I couldnt talk to the guys.

With that said I was at the World of Concrete and ask a Ford rep about them and he said they have many test pickups out on the road and some have over 300,000 miles on the 6.4. I remember hearing these type of statements about the 6.0, but in the reps words Ford cant afford another 6.0!

He also said shipping started on 1/22

we all know they can't afford another 6.0, and we all hope they don't have another problem start like that, but you will never know until they are out and being driven in the real world as to how well they will do, heres to hoping they are fantastic though

I just hope that the positive things we are hearing becomes the standard for this engine. This is what Ford needs, a good engine to pull people back in.

Your right on with that and Ford thanks all of you

I hope it's got the Right Stuff this time around

How would that work out.... $12 Billion in loses divided by how many collective shirts?

I'd hate to see the OUT OF WARRANTY repairs cost. I guess it will be a 5(or 6) year/100K miles. After that keep a bag of $$$ around.

"Sir. You need two turbos and three injectors replaced." OUCH! $$$

Yeah, I can see that being expensive.

That Dale Jarret thing is just sad.

You can only hope it has a standard warranty that good....

I run the standard 3 year 36K mile warranty out the first year I own a truck. Thats why I bought a 75k mile service plan for $2000.00. I did have some small issues and some injectors go down, a turbo in the standard warranty but my total repairs between 40K and 75K miles on the service plan hit almost $30K before the service plan ran out.

I would not have been a happy camper with that kind of repair cost on my dime.

The Dale Jarret thing makes sense. He's not had a winning season for several years, he's fed up with his current team. He's not so much leaving Ford as he's leaving the team that either can't or won't build him a decent car.

I've heard this engine has 10,000,000 test miles on it. I hope so.

And my luck I would get the a 6.4L that would start to have MAJOR issues right after the warranty period expires.

Can you say Extended Service Plan?

If I was joining the 6.4 test team that's what I would do again
