kindergarten. need schooling

i am green...behind the ears on this one. Biodiesel system, workings, and the like. I have been perusing this site for the past hour. Learning a little, bloating on more questions. so, to whence should this journey begin.
i've recently acquired a '93 7.3L f250. i've heard whisperings of things needed to be done to the fuel system before running BD.
what i need right now is some guidance into this.
i appreciate the passion here....

ciao

Your truck will run biodiesel without any modifications. However, if you live in a very cold climate, you will need modifications (heating) if you plan on using biodiesel during the winter time.
Biodiesel is a great summer fuel but begins to experience gelling problems generally below 32 to 38 degF.

If you plan on making your own fuel, be warned: IT IS AN ADDICTIVE HOBBY !!

Biodiesel is better for your engine than petro diesel is. Its also much cheaper to make your own fuel than to buy it.

just stay away from PLASTIC reactor tanks. They are a fire hazard.

To learn more about biodiesel, buy Girl Mark's book.. (Goggle "Girl Mark") she is also listed in Wikipidia.

Check out these links for accurate and up-to date information:

www.biodieselcommunity.org
www.biodiesel.infopop.cc
www.girlmark.com (The inventor of the appleseed home-brew method)

If you have been looking at reactors, I'm sure you've seen all the plastic cone-bottom tanks? There are quite a few manufacturers of these kinds of systems. Dont fall into one of these. Stick with a STEEL reactor vessle only.

Feel free to email me anytime or send a pm.

Good luck and welcome to biodiesel!!!! Your gonna love it.
