hello all! new here but, not new to these old beauties. might be a dumb question but i couldnt find a post on it. what does 60/40 seat mean or 50/50? what do those numbers mean? i have a 78 f250 4x4 4 speed 80,000 miles been sittin awhile and the foam is crumbling apart. so i need a new seat and was wander which to get, but dont understand the numbers.. thanks in advance
A 60/40 has a "split" between the the seat where 60% of the seat is on one side and 40% is on the other. Each side can slide forward/backward of the other side. In most cases, the 60% is the drivers seat and the "center" seat/armrest.
you should look around for the threads on doing a seat swap from a newer truck. you will probably be able to get one at a junkyard pretty cheap, and it's supposed to be really easy to do.
yeah, i tried finding the link before i post but to no avail.. i wander if i could use the old hardware off the seat or if it would be easier just to get it all out of a newer truck? just dont want to drill new holes if i did get it from a newer truck..
