Shops in MD

Chesapeake Auto in Centreville ,MD
Is there a lower rating than 1?
1) Job took 3 days instead of one
2) Charged $75.00 for shop supplies
3) Left the steering wheel sticky and greasy foot prints on the door sill
4) Charged 40 plus % above retail for the new turbocharger
5) Went back and talked to the owner about above, he said he would look into it and call me. 2 weeks later my phone is not ringing.

Don't let them rip anyone else off

Hey everyone, new member obviously... Does anyone know of any shops in the Baltimore/Harford area? I've got a new to me 96 f-250 diesel, that looks nice on the outside, but is turning out to be a major headache everywhere else. (electrical gremlins)

Truck supposedly needed a new transmission and torque convertor - got that done at aamco(which I dont think I will ever go to again) they had the truck 2 weeks and still didnt fix everything trans related. Still need an oil pan gasket - trans oil drips out while running.

They find out that there is a misfire in cylinder 3, which is causing the new transmission to feel exactly like the old one. ( so I wonder if it really needed a new one or they just needed money?)

Sorry for the long first post -

cliffs: does anyone know of a good diesel mechanic in the Baltimore/Harford area?
thanks

Gears and Rears

I haven't used this place but I few on another forum were looking for
places that did rear ends and gear work. These people according to what was said have built rears for so PRO trucks including Gravedigger for one and I think it is a small shop.

If you HAVE to use a pro shop, I have dealt with two that I trust to do ANY work on my vehicles. I use Rich Morton's Lincoln/Mercury in Pasadena for my Lincoln and Miller Bros FLM in Ellicott City for my diesel. In the (quite a few) times I have HAD to use a pro shop, I have never been anything but very satisfied with their work. Oh yes, Miller Bros DOES have qualified diesel mechs on duty.

Gosh,
I can remember a time when Millers wouldn't be caught dead working on anything but Chebbies, now that's going back a good ways.
Got you other questions about your trailer, I'll ask my boss about it matter of fact I'll answer you from there

I didn't know where else to put this where it would get optimal viewing.

If anyone requires to refer to a maint. manual including electrical schematics, go here:

http://www.bedlib.org/ebsco.html

Click on the "AARC" box and use the word "library" for both the user name AND the password. It has many, many manuals listed.

Don't forget to put it in you "FAVORITES" list so you don't have to keep coming back here to find it!!
