If it is indeed bouncy as you said that means there's not enough dampening or it's over sprung.

That looks like a V-10 badge on the front fender (and something else under the EX fender badge), and those look like 40"+ tires........I don't know if they make gear sets deep enough to make that V-10 & monster tire combo tolerable.

ADREN - Do you like the headlights light output you have? Nice looking Ex....Nothing like a really clean nicely painted black vehicle.

Have always wondered if those light bars distract you while driving or add additional wind noise in the cab.

Thanks for the compliment. Black is a b*tch to maintain, but nothing quite like black when it's freshly painted, washed and polished.

As for the lights, I've always had issues with the headlamp output and illumination. I'm not sure if it's an Excursion thing or due to the lift. I replaced the headlamp housing and am using HID kits for both lows and highs, and that still wasn't enough. I now have the high beams running full time and have them focused and calibrated to where they don't blind on coming traffic. It has helped tremendously. I may replace the HIDs with LEDs soon.

I have the curved windshield light bar mounted at the same height as the roof. It does not obstruct line of sight and is not distracting since it lines up with the tint at the top of the wind shield. It does make some noise. I put in cable twists plastics in the heat vents that keep the vents from vibrating in the wind. Without these cable twist "spacers," the vents vibrate like a tuning fork. I still get some wind noise, but it's not bad. Some people use foam in the vents to prevent them from making the tuning fork noise. Either way, if you get a lightbar for your windshield, you'll likely need something in those vents to prevent the high pitch tuning fork noise.

I was planning on doing this lift in the next couple months. if you had to do it again would you skip the new springs in the rear and just do the add a leaf and new block.

I'm happy with the lift. My springs were original and it drove awful before so I never really considered anything else in the rear. That being said I tend to overdue it on most everything! Maybe the AAL and block would've been fine

mine also rides pretty bad the front stock suspension is sagging about an inch according to measurements off this forum and rear is still stock height. Guy at 4x4 shop said rear should still be ok to keep going but I didn't want to do add a leaf and then still have it be bad then have to do it again so I'm unsure which way to go

I just got my 02 7.3 Excursion Limited a week ago. The tires are bigger than stock being a 305/65/16 and I think it is lifted a little but the prior owner didn't know. He didn't even know it had front bags on it though. Tomorrow I'm going to pick of 5 2500 Harley Davidson 20s with 275/65 20s and the spacers and caps I'll post pics then of the new wheels but until then can someone get a measurement of a stock height Ex from the fender to the center of the hub so I can see if there is any lift currently.

Nice looking wagon! Welcome to the best EX destination on the web!
Here is a thread that discusses just that measurement! Have a read and feel free to add your data to the mix.

Could be that the old owner was using those front bags for some lift.......
