Clueless
Years ago when then Ford Motor Company President Peterson was asked by a reporter at a press conference..."If Quality is Job One, what is Job Two?" Peterson had no answer...standing there dumfounded.
So much for being able to think on ones feet.
One reporter later said..."I would have answered that Job Two, Three and beyond was making sure that Quality was Job One."

First of all, Ford is #2 and is expected to drop below Toyota into #3 next year.
I'm as much of a Ford enthusiast as the next guy, but I'm also realistic. You people sound just like the Toyota or die people.
It's obvious that Toyota is making better quality vehicles. Dodge and GM make about the same quality, with Dodge slightly behind GM IMO. Sure, Toyota may not make 3/4 and 1 tons, but what they do make they make well and for a profit.
I'd hope that the 450 is better than a 3500. It's a totally different weight class.
Sometimes I don't see how people can be so blinded by brand names. Honestly, I feel like most of these people can't be adults.

.
I don't believe that today, Toyota vehicles are any better than the stuff from Ford.
Yesterday, however...it was a different story...and once the public latches on to a good thing....why change?
I'm a realist....Ford and GM have a tough uphill battle. The problems are straight from the "good old boys" in the corporate offices. Since the 1930's...the same BS has been said over and over..."we've seen tough times before...this will all blow over soon."
Yeah, right.

In what way is Ford #1?

I'm a Ford guy, and i admit that they are having problems. But, everybody including Toyota, GM and Dodge have recalls on their vehicles, it's called life, problems can be fixed. Why everybody kisses GM's butt is beyond me, I never noticed anything great about GM. Anyway, I believe Ford is the best selling truck, but GM outsold them overall in 2005, i dunno about 2006, those figures should be out in a month or so. Anyone who buys a Toyota over a Ford, I'm laughing my head off. Toyota isn't half as capable as Ford. paying $40K for a Ford will get you A lot more than paying $40K for a Toyota will.
