There's currently a thread in GA that mentions the acetone- ATF. ( It's also been posted here previously).

For you heat addicts, there's an old (2003 ) article up on autoinc.org that talks about this subject ( I think that they have it as a link to popular articles -- if not I'll try to find it).

Anyway, this guy claimed that you could heat a broken bolt to make it softer or harder -- depending on if you were going to drill it out or try to get it out. It was an interesting concept.
