Angry Any Tricks to Help Remove Wiper Arms?

It looks like the wipers arms on my '88 F250 have probably never been removed. I've tried releasing the clip and tugging and banging and prying but can't seem to get the arm to budge. I'm afraid if I get more aggressive I'm going to break something. Is there any trick to pulling these off?

Thanks!

If you lift up on the arm and pull the clip to the hold position, you can then push on the wiper arm as leverage.

If that doesn't work, I have a spare set.

This may help or add more confusion.

Did the speed bumps fix the delayed wiper problem?

Here's the schematic for the fuel tank senders.

When the tank is full the resistance from the sender is around 160 ohms. When the tank is empty around 15 ohms.

lock them and just wiggle the shiat out of them, up and down and around.
Put a few fingers under where they connect, and pull up wiht them, and wiggle with the other hand.
They are aluminum i think. so they shoudln't be rusted together.
DO NOT smack them with a mallet or a hammer, its a pain to get the cowel off to fix the broken bracket.

I'll give it another shot but they don't seem to be giving. My hands were going numb from all the wiggling and pulling. Can they take a good deal of force? I don't want to snap something. I also tried to pry them off with a large screwdriver but couldn't get any real good leverage points without damaging something. I feel like drilling a hole in the middle of one of them and using my gear puller! Would it help to try a little heat and ice on them?

Hey F150! I got the wipers working. Those bumps must have help forge a new / good ground for the wiper switch. An added bonus was I found out I actually have intermittent wipers. For awhile there I just thought my wiper switch was worn out. Daaaaaaa.

Cheers!

They make a removal tool for those you can get it at advance

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...tnumber=T70599

or NAPA sells one also

http://www.napaonline.com//MasterPag...er+Arm+Remover

The Napa one is more expensive of course.

Is that a left handed or a right handed screwdriver???

We "LEFTIES" are in our "RIGHT" state of mind!
Which means you "RIGHTIES" are out in "LEFT" field somewhere!

I found a wide bladed screwdriver and a little wiggle worked for me.

When reinstalling use a little dab of anitsiese.
