I searched around for a while and couldnt find much. It is just a different resistor and I think it is used to keep a smoother idle than the 10k someone correct me if I'm wrong because I havent done this mod

less is more, eg: 10k is more power than 18k....5.6k is more power than 10k & 18k.

Hey guys I have experimented with this mod i have a 6 pos switch from radioshack I only use 4 positions. I have my resistors soldered to a circuit board the positions are STOCK, 18K, 10K and 5.7K. U just hook it up like the 10 k mod. If you would like any details pm me. 18k gives a little extra, the 10k is nice the 5.7k give all low end the truck tends to jump if the rpms go above 2200rpm. I never use that setting.

jboard, are chips just different size resistors? If that the case why are they so expensive? Or am I missing something?

The plug in modules are, most are variable. Chips are plugged into the pcm. The modules are plugged into the icp sensor

Ya mine is just a simple selectible 10k mod with and extra setting. The Ones that you buy hook into the PCM and alters everything the engine does. Mine simply hooks into the ICP sensor as a simply 10k mod.

Is the 5.6k worth trying out? Is it more noticable than 10k?

No in my opinion i wouldnt do it. Cause I have that pos but dont use it because the truck runs crappy. awesome low end right off the line but thats it. The truck will start to shake and miss when u put it over 2300 rpm.
