Cannot disable the seatbelt chime............

Per instructions starting on page 187 of my 05 owners manual:

Shut doors
Set E-Brake
Turn on key
Wait for seatbelt symbol to go off
When it goes off buckle and unbuckle seatbelt 3X ending with it unbuckled
Turn headlights on and of
buckle and unbuckle seatbelt 3X ending with it unbuckled
Seat belt lite is supposed to come on now and after it goes off i am supposed to buckle and unbuckle once more within 7 seconds but the damn light never comes on after the last sequence of 3!!! I have tried a dozen times!!!

I did this in one shot on my 03 Superduty and many others but i cannot get this one to work!!!

I even tried the sequence out of an 07 book to no avail.

For the 07 It says :
Shut doors
Set E-Brake
Turn on key
Wait for seatbelt symbol to go off
When it goes off buckle and unbuckle seatbelt 9X ending with it unbuckled
Light should come on and buckle it once more.

So what is the problem here???

Why would you want to disable it?

I work construction. I am in and out of the Ex on jobsites 40-50 times a day. If i hit pavement i use the belt but i sure as hell am not going to buckle the damn thing overtop of my heavy coveralls 40-50 times a day. I have just started buckling it behind me but that is annoying too. Will unplugging it work or does it have to be jumpered????

Its a pia but keep trying. It took me about 6-7 tries until I finally got it. Make sure to do exactly what it says in the correct order and try not to be to slow.

Unplugging worked on older fords, should work on your's too.If it doesn't, it didn't cost anything or hurt anything.

Yep, I've disabled a couple and it usually takes a minimum of two tries for me. I think it's very sensitive to the timing of the process -- you slip up for a few seconds and it won't happen.

Can you just run the belt behind the seat and buckle it?
