welcome, 57f100!

i am new around here too, also a 57-60 lover. i have a 60 long fleet with MII front. It has always been my understanding that the front leafs/i-beams and rear leafs/diff were different when comparing the 53-56 and 57-60 f series. it would not surprise me if the rails were dimensionally the same, especially in back given the step side usage from 53-72(79?)

i am currently selling/parting a '58 short step with quite a bit of good stuff and an uncut dash. if you or anyone else need anything, let me know. i am in central california.

Years ago I swap in a 67 F100 rear end into my 53 F100,it was a bolt in using the orginal rear springs.
I don`t recall the exact details, just that it was a very easy swap.

Just so you know, that FoMoCo's proper designation for our trucks is "Styleside" & "Flareside", not Brand X's "Fleetside" & "Stepside".

Col. does that mean that the "frame rails" are the same as in they will interchange or what does it mean. It seems that a lot of 57 - 60 guys have looked for the cab mounts and had no luck in finding them. Does that mean that the 56 ones will work on the 57 - 60? How about the bed mounts? Are they the same? Are all the crossmembers the same. It would seem if they are, then us 57 - 60 guys could by a new 56 repo frame to replace our damaged ones. Is this true Col.?

Col,
Regarding post #19 you are totally correct. Most of my fellow gear heads are fans of leaky timing covers and redneck wiring jobs (i.e. chevy and dodge). I am used to dumbing down the terminology for them.

Still not used to conversing in "blue oval-ese" yet.

You have provided a lot of good info above.

These guys carry cab mounts for our trucks. Haven't tried them out yet, but they're listed. http://www.classicfabrication.com/

I haven`t tried the F250 rear axle swap so I don`t know how that would work. It may work, is it possible for you to measure them up?
I don`t know if it will help but if no one jumps in try the Clutch,Transmission, Differential, Axle and Transfer Case forum.
