I have the banks 6 gun on my 99 PSD, I like it. I am planning on stacking it with the Big Hoss just because I want more power. I have K&N FIPK intake and Banks Monster Exhaust. I use setting 3 for everyday driving, I do not tow except for putting the boat in the water but that is only 200ft. It does monitor EGT but I still have a pyro gauge and use that. As far as increase in MPG's go if you are talking going from 18-20mpg hwy to 20+ mpg hwy then no, but if you are talking increasing horsepower and torque and maintaining around 18 mpg hwy then yes. I hope this helps
Setting 5 and 6 will smoke. But remember that too much black smoke ( billowing like a locomotive) means it is time to upgrade your turbo. That much black smoke is not good just wasting fuel which = $$$.
Do your intake and exhaust mods first. Get your gauges Pyro, Boost and Trans temp, to get a baseline of egt, boost pressure and tranny temp, then get your chip. If you are not going to be towing then you will not see the tranny temp move that much.
