I wonder if the fan is the killer-meaning it is not very effective. Thanks for the info on how it works. I had wondered what Ford had done.

Smile Whats a good preservative

I just bought a used 02 with leather seats. Is it true that just the two front seats are leather and the middle and back seats are pleather, or vynal or something that looks like leather but it's not?

My seats have some small cracks starting,..any recommendations on what to do to preserve them?

I believe the second row has leather seat bottoms and possibly backs. But the side bolsters, back bolsters and headrests are vinyl.

I have a 2007 XLT with 32k miles and the front seats show significant wear. I don't have heated or cool seats either. On another note, i noticed my drivers seat squeaks a bit but not the passengers.

Has anyone reported this premature wearing of the front seats to a Ford dealer? Is this something that is covered under the new care warranty? Has anyone had success with it? Mine are exactly the same and getting worse by the day.

Showed the dealer my seat wear this morning when it was in for an oil change. The service advisor told me he'd take pictures and send to Ford to see if they would cover. Much to my surprise, he called and said that they agreed to replace my entire driver's seat. He did tell me that I was getting in and out of my Expy the wrong way... he said that I needed to "lift" myself in using the hand grips. I will be more careful with the new seat.

I also had the TSB done on the climate controlled seats (I was complaining that the A/C seats were not cooling quickly). The TSB seems to have taken care of the problem. It was 90+ here today and the seats seemed to cool pretty well.
