Check Engine Light, Heavy Exhaust, Water From Tailpipe

The day after filling up with gas I have notice my truck is running rough. The Check engine light has come on, I have notice there is heavy exhaust coming from the tailpipe, as well as, water dripping from the tail pipe. Could this be a sign of bad gas or water in the gas? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Welcome to FTE.

Just what do you mean by "heavy exhaust"????

Water vapor or condensation dripping from the exhaust in cool, or cold weather is normal.

Have you been having the rough running problem, previous to this episode????

Did you just change brands of gas, or maybe change stations, or buy gas at a out of the way, low volume place, or maybe buy gas during, or soon after a tanker made a delvery, on this fill up????

A litte more info would be helpful.

I have had no rough running problems previous to this. The gas was purchased from a 7-11 station, but I am not sure when the tanker made its delivery. I just though it was interesting that this started happning the day after filling up. I first noticed it as I was accelerating between 30-50 mph and the truck start running very roughly. I then noticed that it wasn't running right at an idle either.

Previously i was hearing sounds from my exhaust system and now i see that i am losing exhaust from underneath the truck at a union joint. Not sure if that would have any thing to do with it or not.

Put a dollar can of dry gas in the truck, should clear it up or at least improve it if its wet gas. Next tank will of gas will clear it. If it dosen't, it not the gas.

Also get your codes scanned and post them here, along with the year and engine of your truck, we'll try to help.
