Google Ron Davis radiator. It will come up. I had to request a quote. It took a few days for a reply. They look great but are a little pricey. Based on appearance and function that would be my pick but I have a bit of Bobby and Vern in me that pulls me to the low $ mid 70's dodge truck radiator. About 1/3 of the $.

Here is the main website: http://www.rondavisradiators.com/Welcome.htm
About half way down are the radiators that fit our trucks: http://www.rondavisradiators.com/radgallery.htm

I got mine with the electric fan and bracket kit. It is much cleaner than any of the aftermarket brackets sold. I have never had an overheating problem with this radiator. It handled DFW going home traffic like it was nothing when I was at the Goodguy's event there. Anymore info? I'd be glad to help.

I haven't seen all of the replies to your question, but what's wrong with a flathead???
I think a nice 284 or 296 with Fuel Injection would make a great choice. My '48 has a 296 with 4 97's and it runs great. Of course, I'm really old so what do I know!

Well ,here is my 2cents .My truck is a 302 with a c4 and I'M still fixing the gremlins . As for the 300 6cyl there was a 1972 maverick drag car that was running a 300 with an automatic tranny , nitrous and a 9in rear that could leave most of the competition scratching their heads .

I know I may catch hell for this one, but nobody has mentioned the 400. I'm probably going to use one in my next project (57-60 4x4) but only because I have one sitting around to rebuild. A 351W bored and stroked to 427cu would be cool.

I love the 400's, so you have my vote. Danlee has one in his '53 on the 335 series forum. I have a 400 in my 83 F250, and a 400 going into my tbird (atleast try to)

You know, There as many reasons to do an old truck. Not the least of these is the personal nature of the project. It's yours, It's what tightens your wingnut. As for the weight of a 460, it's only 70lbs heavier than a flathead. 640lbs versus 570lbs. As for me, I went with a 514 bigblock pumping out 650hp. How's that. Carried by a 1974 Ranchero Front Suspension and a 9" Rear end. All coupled to a performance C-6. Bigger is better. I like to burn rice.
