windshield wipers vacum system?
I have a 1959 F100, stepside that I have subframed and put a 302, C-4 tranny, with a 9" rear. I the truck still has the original wipers configuration and I would like to update it. At present I have a vac line going to the intake, but this doesn't work very well. Can I replace the vac system with an electric motor? or add a better vac source? I need help on it. Thanks

Hi,
You might try to put a vac resevior in line to the wipers. They are usually the size of a large tomato juice can. It will help. The other option is to find the optional electric wiper parts for that year. There were trucks with electric wipers in 57-60, but very rare.

I have 2 f100's 58 and 59 and both have electric motors for wipers and the 58f100 cab i got from texas had electric, you should contact vintage ford in sacremento or dennis carpenter reproductions I know you can get motor and switch and probably matching white **** id needed, check suppliers sections in these pickup webpages , old vacume wipers are dangerous, when stepping on gas....wipers stop...and I have driven many old ford trucks and cars with vacume and would change it, garry
