F350 Aftermarket Mirror Options ?
Has anyone used these Aftermarket Options as replacements?
I'm just trying to fix a mirror that was busted by a hit an run (#$#%*^&), clipped the mirror on drivers side.
The stock mirror is a Powered NON-Telescopic Single-Swing Type.
Would like to replace just the one mirror, but really like the idea of the "Telescopic Double-Swing Type".
Ford Dealer wants $259 for the replacement, I could buy TWO (2) "Telescopic Double-Swing Type" for that price.
The lighted ones are KEWL but I could do without, granted all the extra wiring work, still trying to decide.
Any advice or comments are welcomed.
Edit: Found the threads for removing door panel and mirrors (much appreicated).
My truck is a '99 F350 7.3, tow a 37.5 Avion !
Regards,
AX

Those mirrors look very original. For the price, it would probably be worth it, but like anything, you won't be able to tell until you hold it and install it to see how well it fits and functions. Don't forget that the whole mirror doesn't have to be replaced. They come in like 3 pieces and can be bought separately.

Thanks PHWLEE
The whole asembely was destroyed, the only thing left is the two arms ......
Just for further clarification: I have twin arm type, but they are NON-telescoping, I didn't even see a replacement on the NON-telescoping twin arm. I've always wanted to change them, because they didn't telescope. Bought the truck used, thought they were stuck, but now that the arms are exposed I can see the bolts running through the arms.

Can't tell you either way whether to buy them from there or not. That's your call. You can also take a look on ebay, I've seen tons of the towing mirrors for sale there. The telscoping ones come in handy if you have to tow because they pull out a few inches more giving you more visibility and retract when you don't need them.

not trying to be a jerk but that is what happens when you bring a thread up from 2007, not many people read the whole thing and just comment what the original posted wanted to know. you are better off seaching for a thread on your topic or starting a new one. anyways
the mirror is held on by four bolts. open your truck door and you'll see three rubber plugs inserted into the body, pull the top and botton off. you then see the nut and bolt inside the door. then there are two nuts and bolts behind the "sail plane" plastic piece too.
after the nut is removed just pull the mirror off and disconnect the plug (if it is electric) and redo the steps to complete the process with the new mirror.

here is the process in picture form. also you shouldnt have to do any wiring if you are using a replacement mirror that has a round connector on truck from 1999-2001 or if it has a square connector from 2001-2007 (round vs square connector overlapped in 2001 i believe) a new mirror design was introduced in 04 or somewhere close to that time. (round vs square year overlapped that year i believe).
any mirror from 99-2008 will fit the ford superduties if you are looking for a replacement just to add.
New Mirrors
New Mirror installation (what you are looking for)
