I broke a fuel filter cap when tightening it the cap for the engine compartment fuel filter on a 04 F-250 6.0 Diesel. I called Ford to buy a new cap and they want to sell the whole entire housing for $250 and I was wondering if anyone knows any place that will sell just the cap. Or if there are any vendors on here I can order one from.

I sent for a new "OIL" filter cap from Max at 5 Star Ford and he mistakenly sent me the fuel filter cap so I would imagine that your local dealer is woofing you! Try another dealer. Oh yeah, I had to return the fuel filter cap to them, so I don't have it anymore.

 

Yeah I ordered that cap from Rockauto and it really is an oil filter cap. Another ford dealer had one in stock so the first dealer was just trying to screw me.
