53 suspension and steering

I have a 1953 - 3 quarter ton pickup with a 118 WB.
I would like to update the suspension and steering to more current standards. Should I clip the frame, install a "K"frame(chrysler) or replace the frame with a newer one? If a frame is the way to go, can anyone recommend one?

Thanks again for your help
Reg

If you do a frame swap you may want to used on of the smaller trucks instead of a full size one. I have a "55" that I just completed a suspension make over. In the front I added a new main leaf only, tie rod ends, rebuilt the drag link, new shock and it works fine. In thr rear I took the leaf springs along with the brackets from a "87" bronco and bolted them up which also works great. The spring pads have to be move out about an inch. This is the thrifty way total cost around $350.00 with me doing all the work and a $30.00 front end alignment.
