1956 F100 Running Boards

Are the running boards the same length on 1956 short beds and long beds?

I believe not. Mine is the only long-bed I've seen but the difference between the two sizes is significant enough I doubt any part could be interchanged. Well, the bolts and cushions, maybe...

They are different lengths.

Compare the pictures on Earl's world and you will see them for yourself.

The long bed boards should be 8" longer than the short beds (110" wheelbase vs. 118").

Darn!! That's what I thought. Do you know of anyone who sells running boards for the 1956 F100 longbed? Are they the same as the F250 running boards?

Thanks.

They should match up with the F-250 since the "long bed" is actually the Express Bed that was a standard on the F-250.

Nobody makes reproduction long bed running boards. You'll have to find some used ones out there. Any long bed from 1953 to 1956 will fit.

There's an entire F-250 long bed on sale on ebay right now, item#230073985736

Looks like the truck has the long bed running boards and the seller provides his email for folks interested in parts off the truck. The guy is in Kerman, California so maybe not that far from you! Shipping would be expensive due to the size of the running boards.

I was thinking about offering to buy that whole truck and use if for parts...

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into it.
