Question Windshield molding/weatherstripping

I have an 87 f150 and the chrome trim on the windshield has come off. The molding under is rotted out and needs replacing. Does the windshield need to come out or can the molding be taken off and replaced with the window in place?

Uh...do you mean the windshield weatherstrip, perhaps?

Yes, windshield must be removed...carefully.

yes, what you said! I wasn't sure if it was molding or a weatherstrip. Any idea what that can cost to have done by a shop or a mobile auto glass company?

This is strictly a glass shop (or mobile) operation...as there is no weatherstrip. A type of glass tape is used.

Not for the DIY'er.

Price..?.sorry, no idea...
