Fuel Pressure regulator o-rings

Fuel Pressure regulator o-rings
Is there somewhere to get the o-rings that are found in the pressure regulator? I think they would be ok to put back in but I would like to replace them if i could. What is the function of the piece that is mounted vertically in the regulator? You have to take a snap ring out to get to it and it looks like a cylinder of meshed steel. Also, I have pulled the filter canister and all the hoses to the fuel pump and cleaned the valley. I haven't pulled the pump yet because I couldn't ever isolate where the leak was coming from. Would it be wise to just spend the 90 bucks and replace the pump while I am in there and have it all taken apart? The truck has 200,000 miles on it.

If you have the money, change the pump. Two thirds of the time involved in changing the pump is in taking everything loose and removing/repostioning the fuel filter housing, taking all of the hoses and fuel lines off and cleaning up the valley.
You can always keep the old pump for a spare if you find out that it was not leaking.
***REMEMBER to rotate the engine once you have the pump disconnected to prevent the tappet from dropping into the block.****

Went ahead and changed it today with no problems yet. Except i cracked the sensor at the bottom of the fuel bowl when i tried to put it back in. Super glued it back together and it seemed to hold. I followed the directions given on this site and they were quite helpful. Thanks everyone for helping me get this done. It sure is a pretty sight to see a dry valley!
