Looks Like A Will Be Replacing A Lower Ball Joint And Tie Rod Ends This Weekend On My 2000 4wd F150 After Recieving A Quote Of 800+ For The Dealer To Do It! I Dont Have A Press Nor Access To One To Put The Lower Ball Joint In. Does Any One Have Any Substitutes I Can Use For A Press? After Reading The Forums I Feel Confident About Replacing The Ball Joint But Need Tips Or Hints On The Tie Rod Ends!!!

i found that a box of doughnuts and a few coffees to the local garage got the ball joints pressed in really well. tie rod ends shouldn't be too difficult. leave the nut on flush with the end of the threaded part, tap sharply on the side of the "tie rod end reciever" to loosen the taper, then hit the nut...should work out that way. good luck...
