You are so right about that.

I do like my current F350 alot for that reason....In fact I like all of my Ford PS's because they get the Job Done

Too me, mileage is still very important part of cost of ownership / operation when you spend $56k on a new truck. With about $27k spent in fuel last year it is a real concern for me. That's why I was surprised with the ordered trucks listed having the 4.88 axle ratio.

Im not doubting that at all, but some people drop money on these, then all you hear them complain about is the gas mileage...its not a honda civic...get used to it.

Those 4.88's must pull houses off of their foundations hehe. It doesnt help the gas situation that much. I am guessing that anyone who gets that option must really need that extra gearing for their loads.

I am anxious to find out what the fuel consumption rate is. My 05 F350 Dually with 4:10 gets a max of 16 mpg if I am careful and don't drive faster than 60mph. It drops to about 14 if I drive like I usually do. Let us know asap.

anxiously awaiting.

Curious how many miles you have on the 05 Dually w 4.10's?

And is that doing the math or using the mileage display?

It was using the lie o meter. I have checked it and it seems to be pretty accurate. I went to Colorado pulling a horse trailer and the mileage was the same on the display as doing the math. I averaged 10 mpg on that trip with a total weight of 23000lb +. That included off road, low range, slow four wheeling in the snow pulling that trailer full of horses.

I now have 24000 miles on it.
