'54 Radiator and Seat questions

Hey Guys - Many years reading, first time posting. Two questions: I have a '54 in different stages of finishing. I installed a '70 something Chevy 350/350 (sorry, it was a great deal) and am looking for info on what make/year radiators to use that will work. 2nd question - looking for info on what make/year bench seat will fit inside. When I can figure out how to post pics I'll post mine, in the meantime, thanks for any suggestions.

Vern (Greatnorthwoods) and Bobbytnm both run GM engines and used a Dodge radiator. You could look in their galleries for more info.

A Chevy pickup bench seat is a very nice fit and looks great. Also Ranger seats fit nicely.

It depends on what you want to do? If you want more of the original brass radiator look or going with a crossflow aluminum type. I'm using a radiator out of a 60 F100 which actually looks similar to the originals. I got a good deal on a rebuilt one so I took it. If your good at fabrication, several people choose to go with the side flow aluminum out of the later model vehicles which cool better than the older type radiators. You need to find one that has the inlet and outlet on the correct sides of the tanks so you can install the upper and lower hose without doing majority reconstruction to your radiator tanks.
As far as a bench seat, I went with the original for ease of installation. Randy gave you two excellent examples of what works, however once again, you will have to do some type of fabrication to make any of the other seats work.

All good info, thanks to you both - how does one access Vern (Greatnorthwoods) and Bobbytnm's galleries? Seems being a newbie prohibits me from sending emails, does same apply to their galleries?

Click on my username and then gallery. The 75 Dodge D-100 truck radiator works very well in my 48. The outlets are positioned correctly and it fits the confines of the core support with little fabrication.

When running a chev small block use an original 6 cyl radiator. This radiator has the top hose in the center and the lower hose on the pass side. ( if my memory serves me I think the chev lower hose is on the pass side)

bigwin56f100's memory is correct - lower hose is on the passenger side. There are original style radiators out there with altered hose locations. The top hose is moved to the driver's side and bottom hose is on the passenger side in the case of the radiator for the 350 Chevy.
