1970 Mustang

Found a car this summer very rust free fastback 351 auto. My plan is to jam a 429 and a big block toploader 4 speed jnto it and make it kook like a boss 429 car. Big project though!

I spent some time parts searching - 429 engine/big block toploader/clutch and brake pedals and linkages for 4 speed conversion/gauge cluster with a factory tach/center console/chin and trunk spoilers/window louvers/etc. The car is a pretty plain jane car in stock form.

My friend Rob (you met him Morris - the guy with the lightning) bought a restored 69 Mach 1 with a 351/fmx combination. Any ideas on where to look for parts, the engine seem easy to find, but some of the 4 speed stuff is tough.

There is guys around town but I`ve lost touch with them over the years. The Saskatoon Mustang/Ford club isn`t much help, a call to RPM at 652-6668 or Bob at Auto Trends 653-4455. They may know of used parts locally or Mustangs for sale.
Another idea to to go to the Saskatoon swap meets. While usually there isn`t alot of older Mustang parts at the swap meets you never know if you don`t go.

This thread caught my eye. Stangs of that vintage are very nice indeed. Good luck with your project. Any pictures?
