The domain name listed there is fordtrucks.com
Our primary domain is ford-trucks.com.
That is our branding, not fordtrucks.com, plus search engines have enough conical issues (duplicate content) already without muddying the water with links to the same site via multiple domains.

Its not just a link. Don't you think FTE has a reasonable expectation to have the site address spelled correctly when someone attaches the "Ford Truck Enthusiasts" name to their cause?

Its not that I'm mad, its more a matter of pride. Sort of like your name, no one likes their name misspelled (or mis-punctuated). If you've ever read the classic Carnegie book he makes note that the most important word in a person's life is their name. The way someone else spells their family name isn't a big deal to you, but I bet its important to them! Same goes with FTE and having our name attached to this project.

The team name at the top is spelled correctly, and the link does come to this site so anyone looking at it and checking it out will end up at the right place. If we close out that team and start another one all the points accumulated to date will be lost and we would have to start over from scratch. That means the teams standing will start at the bottom again, and even though the research will still be helped, the free effort we have put in building the team will be lost. Maybe that doesn't matter, but it means something at least.
I see where you're coming from Ken, but like monsterbaby said.. It's spelled correctly on the team name and the link gets you here. A lot of changing would have to be done on everyone's part and all of our work would be lost. The link still gets you here ...

What is the status/progress on getting the correct domain name? FTE needs its site represented with the correct domain. Thanks.
Sometimes we have to even leave OUT hyphens in some apps: The link gets here, the Site is not only represented but BRAGGED about by Ryan, Many FTE members and supporters are jumping on board! I'd say so far, all you've lost is a hyphen!
Oh, and I'm not afraid to make fun of guys...because if you ever come after me, I'll just put on a sad song, a chick flick, and dress up like a dentist...you'll be bawling like a little girl.Tim

Dear Dr. Pande,
I'm a member of team 53449 through www.ford-trucks.com. There was a small puctuation mistake in the set up of the team name and the " - " was left out of the domain name. It was typed www.fordtrucks.com.
I realize your time is precious and this seems like an unimportant detail considering the goal, but the team members are taking some heat for the mistake and we wondering if there were any way we could fix this without losing the work we've done so far as a team. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I lost my wife to Small Cell Lung cancer 7June'06 and this project is very imprtant to all of the team members, and we are gaining members almost everyday.
Again, thank you for your time but more importantly, God bless the project.
Carl P. Christensen
