I run 40 in front and rear of my 4x4. It actually helps because these tires are oversized (245 versus the stickered 235) and it actually helps prevent the tire bending over sideways on a turn. It's got crap Kelly tires on it. *shrugs*
My door sticker says 32 in front and 36 in rear, so I just run 36 all around. Never any problems, and the truck rides a whole lot better. I am kind of **** as well and I like to have stuff match.
Depends on the tire, when I ran 33" KO's I ran 45-50 with the smaller 235-265 tires I run 35-40. Just remember these idiots who got their exploders rolled over and sued Firestone/Ford almost all had low tire pressure and thats where their problems started.
I run Goodyear RSA's load range D tires (245 width) on my 99 F150 and run them at 47 psi front and rear, on my 3/4 ton I run the load range E tires at 70 psi. I have good tire wear and the ride is like a truck. My mileage does not suffer either. FORD OEM tires on 150's are Load range C, so that you get that cushy ride. And I truely believe that is why FORD had the falling out with Firestone a few years back. Firestone recommended higher tire pressures and FORD went lower, to get a smoother ride and the tires failed. I want to be able to feel the road when I'm cruising down the highway or side road. Also when cornering, I do not want the sidewalls rolling under.
If you want a Lincoln ride then by a Lincoln car, a truck is suppose to ride like a truck.
Depends on what I am doing with my truck, but normal driving with no load in the box and not towing, I seem to do the opposite of what others are doing.... 36 in the front and 32 in the rear. Then, adjust from there depending on the situation and conditions.
65/f 75/r the truck came with load range e tires. so i figure i'll use them to my advantage. after i did this i gained about 2 or 3 miles to the gallon
I run my tire at 38-40 all the way around, and get even wear. I like to feel the road also. My door says 28frnt and 32 rear and have never had them there and never will.
I am starting to wander about something though. For those whose truck specifies 28 front and 32 rear, is that the original sticker or the recall sticker? My truck has that on the original sticker on the door jamb but a recall sticker was placed right under it saying 32 front and 35 rear, I am just noticing my mistake in my earlier post. I do run them at 36 all around though. I dont know a whole lot about this tire pressure recall but have heard that it had something to do with the whole Firestone mess.
