Should be able to do it. I put a 460 with a C6 in a 54 F250. I believe the front axles are the same. The F250 may have slightly heavier front springs. I used one of the cross frame motor mounts available from several of the firms that specialize in parts for the early f series trucks. I think I got it from Bob's F100s. So far it has worked great. Plenty of room under the hood. I even got lucky and have been using the original radiator. It works ok as long as I don't idle around on real hot days.

I'm planning the same install in my '53.. mounts already fabbed over a Volare Clip... the engine will probably dress out around 700# but I saw dozens of our models at Pigeon forge this year and no one had any problems... I've heard of some heat problems when idling in hot weather, but with adequate radiator and fan I don't anticipate any problems... since the orig axle/springs are probably stouter than later ifs.. you shouldn't have a problem...

I, too, saw lots of them at Pigeon Forge this year. They appeared to fit real nice.

Put one in my '53 works great, I have a volare front end so had to use a cut down or van oil pan to get engine low enough to go. otherwise no sweat.

'fenders,
You only need two things
1-a pile of money
2-a back up pile of money for when the first one is gone!

I am currently lacking both or the 454 EFI would be settling into the frame of my 56.

Is this the start of a new project?
Good Luck,

Am I really the only one who thought this was an attempt to poke fun at another member of the forum???? If it was, that very member didn't even rise to the bait. Then again, did John say he has a Volare clip again?? Dewayne, do you know something about a possible change of motivational force for a certain truck??? Got a line on a certain 460???

Perhaps we are all in the Christmas mood and just took it as it was asked??? You know it has been somewhat quite around here lately

On the other hand.... Maybe it was Mrs. Fatfenders using his handle to see the reaction to her Christmas present she bought Dewayne????

Anyone???

4 speed, I've read enough of your posts to know you weren't being a smart ***. When I first read the title I was hoping Fenders was just trying to stir things up a little around here.

You have to admit it's been very cordial around here lately

News Flash!

'fenders is innocent of all charges. This is not my thread. I did not start it. I don't want a 460 now, and I didn't then either. Nothing wrong with a big block mind you. It's just that I wanted some mpg from day one. Anyhoo, that's the scoop. This is a victim of the software change about 6 months ago. I saw some threads started by Carl. "I love my 302" and other things he would only say under medication.

Yeah, I too was thinking it was an attempt to get things going. Oh well, I'm starting to think the steering wheel thread is going that route.... -4speed edit, read your post grant,
